Volunteers are an important part of our organization
In 2007 we launched our volunteer guiding programme, this focuses primarily on guiding but has grown to include other duties as the volunteers gain more experience onsite. As a volunteer guide at Kiwi Encounter you receive staff benefits and extensive training on the kiwi.
International volunteers visit through the ICYE (International Cultural Youth Exchange) programme every year and work at Kiwi Encounter and Rainbow Springs for up to six months. People from Global Volunteers work for a day every three months at Kiwi Encounter also.
Students from all the major universities in New Zealand have worked here as volunteers as part of their studies.
